About Ayes

Everyone's got an opinion. Now it counts.

Ayes is a free public voting app where everyone gets one vote. One person, one account, no bots. And nobody can see how you voted.

Why Ayes exists

Online polls are easy to fill with bots, fake accounts and people voting over and over. Ayes is built the other way round: every vote is tied to one real account, counted once, and kept anonymous. The aim is simple: show what people really think.

How it works

  1. Sign in with your email. We send you a link. No password to remember.
  2. Vote on the question of the week, plus any others you like. It takes about ten seconds.
  3. See the results and how they change as more people vote.

Your vote is private

We record that you voted on a question, so nobody can vote twice. We never store what you chose next to who you are. Nobody, including us, can look up your vote. Read more in our privacy policy.

Coming next: verified voting

Right now, every vote comes from a signed-in account, with a robot check to stop bots. Next, you'll be able to verify that you're a real, unique person, for example with your phone. Results will show how many verified people voted, so every verified voter makes the result stronger.

We'll check you're real, then forget the details. Your vote is never linked to who you are.

Fair questions

Questions are written to be neutral, with no leading wording and a fair set of answers. You can suggest your own questions in the app, and a person checks every one before it goes live. See how we write questions.

What the results mean

Ayes results are not a scientific poll. They show what Ayes voters think, not the whole country. The more people who join, the closer they get.

The big goal

Today, Ayes shows what Ayes voters think. The goal is much bigger: millions of real people across the UK, each with one vote, answering the questions that matter. Not a few thousand people picked by a polling company, but anyone who wants a say.

When that many real people take part, the results become a true picture of what the country thinks, and much harder for newspapers, councils and politicians to ignore.

Every vote gets us closer. You're one of the first, so bring a friend.

How Ayes is free

Ayes is free to use. We never sell your personal data. In future we may share combined, anonymous results (for example "62% said yes") with organisations that want to know what people think, but never anything that identifies you.
